AI Disclosure

Purpose of This Document

This document explains how MAiTRAX uses artificial intelligence, what data is processed, and what rights you have over content created with AI assistance.

What You Need to Know

You Own Your Music

All content you create in MAiTRAX belongs to you, including:

  • Music generated by AI from your prompts
  • Audio transformed by AI processing
  • Remixes and stems created with AI tools
  • Final tracks combining AI and non-AI content

MAiTRAX does not claim ownership, rights, or revenue from your music.

Commercial Use Is Allowed

You may use AI-generated music from MAiTRAX for:

  • Commercial releases (streaming, downloads, physical media)
  • Client work and commissioned projects
  • Sync licensing (film, TV, games, advertising)
  • Live performances
  • Any other commercial or non-commercial purpose

You are not required to credit MAiTRAX or disclose AI usage, though you may choose to do so.

AI Is Optional

MAiTRAX is a full-featured DAW. You can:

  • Import and edit your own audio without using AI
  • Record live instruments and vocals
  • Use traditional mixing and effects
  • Complete entire projects without AI generation

AI tools are opt-in features, not requirements.

How AI Works in MAiTRAX

Generation Process

When you use AI generation features:

  1. You provide a text prompt describing what you want to create
  2. MAiTRAX sends your prompt to a third-party AI generation service
  3. The AI service processes your request and generates audio
  4. Generated audio is returned to MAiTRAX
  5. Audio is committed to your project like any imported file

Data Processing

Data sent to AI services may include:

  • Text prompts you write
  • Reference audio you optionally provide (for style transfer or remix)
  • Generation parameters (tempo, length, format)

Data NOT sent to AI services:

  • Your full project files
  • Audio tracks not explicitly used for generation
  • Personal information (unless included in prompts)

Data Retention

MAiTRAX does not control third-party AI service data retention policies. Prompts and audio sent for generation may be:

  • Processed and immediately discarded
  • Temporarily cached for performance
  • Subject to provider-specific retention policies

We select AI providers based on their licensing terms and commercial use permissions. See Privacy Policy for more details on third-party data handling.

AI Model Information

MAiTRAX uses multiple AI models for different tasks:

Audio Analysis (Local)

  • Tempo detection
  • Key detection
  • Audio feature extraction (DNA system)
  • Waveform generation

These run locally on your device and do not send data to external services.

Music Generation (Cloud)

  • Text-to-audio generation
  • Style transfer and remix
  • Stem separation

These require cloud-based AI services and involve data transmission to third-party providers.

Disclosure Indicators

MAiTRAX provides optional metadata tagging for AI-generated content:

  • Clips generated by AI include provenance metadata
  • Generation prompts are stored in project files
  • DNA profiles track which analysis was AI-assisted

You may use this metadata to:

  • Track which content used AI
  • Provide disclosure if required by distribution platforms
  • Maintain creative documentation

MAiTRAX does not automatically publish or embed AI disclosure in exported audio files.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Release Decisions: Deciding when and where to publish your music
  • Platform Compliance: Following requirements of distribution platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
  • Third-Party Licensing: Ensuring any samples or references you provide are properly licensed
  • Content Accuracy: Ensuring generated content meets your quality and legal standards

MAiTRAX provides tools, not legal advice. If you have questions about AI disclosure requirements in your jurisdiction or industry, consult appropriate legal or professional resources.

What MAiTRAX Does Not Do

MAiTRAX does not:

  • Automatically publish your music
  • Share your music with third parties without your action
  • Use your audio to train AI models (unless explicitly disclosed in future updates)
  • Claim copyright or derivative rights over your content
  • Restrict how you monetize or distribute your music

Service Availability

AI generation depends on third-party infrastructure, which means:

  • Service interruptions may occur
  • Generation times may vary
  • Model updates may change output characteristics
  • Providers may be replaced to maintain quality and licensing compliance

MAiTRAX strives to provide reliable AI features, but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Enterprise plans may include enhanced availability terms.

Changes to AI Systems

MAiTRAX may:

  • Add new AI models or providers
  • Deprecate or replace existing models
  • Update AI features based on user feedback
  • Adjust generation limits based on cost and demand

When significant changes occur, you will be notified through:

  • In-app announcements
  • Email updates (if subscribed)
  • Updated documentation
